📖 Reading

Lucy's class was planning a picnic in the park. Their teacher, Mr. Diaz, asked everyone to bring some food and drinks. 'We don't need much time to prepare,' he said. 'Just bring something simple.' On the morning of the picnic, Lucy checked her bag. She had some sandwiches, an apple, and a bottle of water. Her friend Tom didn't have any sandwiches, but he had a lot of cookies. 'I made too many,' he laughed. 'Do you want some?' At the park, the students put all the food on a big blue blanket. There was so much food that the table looked full! There were many kinds of fruit, some pizza, and lots of juice. However, there wasn't any cake, because nobody remembered to bring one. After lunch, the children played games. Some students played football, and others sat under a tree and talked. Mr. Diaz asked, 'Is there any water left?' Lucy checked the bag. 'Yes, there's still some,' she answered. 'But there isn't much juice now.' Before they left, everyone helped clean up. There wasn't any rubbish on the grass because the class was very careful. Mr. Diaz smiled and said, 'You are all fantastic! We should have a picnic like this every month.'
