Maria is fourteen years old, and she loves sports. Every Saturday morning, she plays basketball with her school team. Last Saturday, the team played a very important game against another school. Maria was nervous before the game, but she scored ten points and her team won!
After the game, Maria and her friends usually go to the park. They like to ride bikes or just sit and talk about the match. Yesterday, they were sitting on the grass when it started to rain, so they had to run home quickly!
Maria's brother, Tom, is different. He doesn't like team sports very much. He prefers quiet activities like fishing and reading comic books. On weekends, he often goes fishing with his father at the lake near their house. They have never caught a big fish, but they always have a good time together.
Next month, Maria's team is going to play in a big competition in another city. She is very excited about it. She has already started to practise every day after school. Her coach says that if the team trains hard, they will have a good chance of winning the trophy.
Both Maria and Tom agree that free time is important. Whether you like fast, exciting sports or calm, relaxing hobbies, doing something you enjoy helps you feel happy and healthy.
